There is one more aspect of  the power of affirmations which we would now like to talk about, and that relates to something called Power Words. A Power Word is a single word affirmation which you adopt as your own personal mantra and continue to use for as long as it is beneficial. This could be days, weeks, months or even years.

The key to this idea is to identify a specific need you have and then adopt a personal Power Word which represents that need having already been met. For example:

- If you need more money in your life, a suitable Power Word would be WEALTH.

- If you need to cope with stress more effectively, a suitable Power Word would be CALM.

- If you need to overcome a nervous disposition, a suitable Power Word would be CONFIDENCE.

Other useful Power Words you may wish to consider using are:

HEALTH

VITALITY

PASSION

LOVE

PEACE

JOY

PATIENCE

ENTHUSIASM

SERENITY

KINDNESS

COURAGE

GRATITUDE

ENERGY

PERSISTENCE

DISCIPLINE

WISDOM

FAITH

TRUST

SUCCESS

STRENGTH

When you have selected a Power Word, you need to start using it.

Doing this is very easy. Each morning, say your Power Word out loud no less than ten times. Speak the word with the appropriate emotional conviction. For example:

- If your Power Word is STRENGTH then say the word with a feeling of strength.

- If your Power Word is ENTHUSIASM then say the word with a feeling of enthusiasm.

This brings emotion into the routine, and will make the method much more effective.

Repeat this process at some point during the day and once again in the early evening. Regular Repetition of your Power Word will lead to the word becoming a part of your psyche, and the results you gain from this simple idea can be dramatic.

You should adopt one Power Word at a time to begin with, and only go on to adopt a second and third when the first one has become a part of your identity. For example, if your first Power Word is CONFIDENCE, then only move on to using another word when you have the level of confidence you desire.

Conclusion

The Power of Affirmation is something which you can use to totally transform your life. It can bring you benefits in all areas of life, including health, finances, career, relationships and spirituality.

By beginning and following a scheduled program of deliberate affirmation, such as the ten week Power of Affirmations Program detailed previously, you can take total control of your life and start experiencing the lifestyle you most desire.

Remember, most of us are here on a seventy year vacation, so we shouldn’t waste any time in living a second-rate life just because we couldn’t be bothered to follow through and create good things.

You have the knowledge.  Use it.  And enjoy.

The ten week Power of Affirmations Program that we have detailed in previous articles is immensely powerful. It synchronises the four vital steps of habitual affirmation, visualization, emotion and action and makes it possible for you to achieve whatever you want in your life.

We know of many people who have used this program and radically changed their lives as a result. One young woman went from being a shy, awkward character with no job or money to becoming a self-confident entrepreneur in the competitive world of advertising. Another student followed the program and went from being ‘stuck’ in a rut of poverty to travelling the world, happily working on cruise ships and in the countries he had always dreamed of exploring.

There are no limits to what you can achieve if you set your mind to it. You can be, do and have whatever you want. All you need is what you now have – a complete program based on the undeniable power of affirmation.

NOTE : When you have completed the ten week Power of Affirmations Program you should continue using affirmations on a daily basis: once upon rising, once at the middle of the day and once before retiring. Your affirmations can, of course, change from time to time in accordance with new experiences you wish to manifest in your life.

The Misuse Of Affirmations

As you have already seen, affirmations are tremendously powerful and can help you to achieve a lot of positive things in your life. In the wrong hands, however, the power of affirmation can be very dangerous indeed.

A few practitioners of the power of affirmation have been known to use their knowledge of this art in an attempt to control and manipulate other people. They word their phrases carefully in order to try and ‘program’ another person on a subliminal level and thereby influence them. Thus you hear stories on the news about a new cult leader who ordered his followers to commit suicide and watched them obey. You hear stories of corruption in the government, police force and other organisations.

Whilst the power of affirmation can undoubtedly be used to try and control other people, we strongly advise against this. Our philosophy of empowerment is that you should become all you can be and at the same time you should help everyone around you reach their full potential. Achieving empowerment by controlling others – whether through ‘mind-control’ affirmations or any other technique – will only prove to be self-defeating in the long term.

Of course, you should also be on your guard against being controlled by others. The best way to do this is to rely on your own affirmations and the voice of your inner guide within when making any serious decisions, and so on. If you do this then the manipulative power of affirmation via dogma, corrupt officials, mind control or any other medium will not have any hold over you.

Become self-reliant. Choose your own words, thoughts and destiny. And be empowered!

In our previous article entitled The Power of Affirmations II we provided instructions for the first two weeks of our ten week Power of Affirmations Program. We now present instructions for the remaining weeks…

The Power of Affirmations Program – Week Three

Objective
Now that you have written two specific and present-tense affirmations, you are ready to begin the act of changing your life. This week you will use your affirmations five times each day.

Reason
Regular use of affirmations creates ‘astral blueprints’ or thought-forms which, when strong enough, will manifest themselves as material realities.

Method
Every day this week, read your affirmations aloud, fusing them with emotion. Do this exercise five times each day. Our recommended schedule is to read your affirmations at 7am, 10am, 1pm, 7pm and 11pm although of course this schedule can be adjusted according to your work and sleeping habits.

When reading your affirmations, do so with thought. Understand that as you read each affirmation you are creating a powerful astral blueprint of your desires and the more emotion you can put into your affirmations, the stronger these blueprints will be.

To make it easier to generate emotion, close your eyes and see the affirmation in your mind as though it were already a reality. Then get excited about it.

For example, if one of your affirmations is ‘I am a successful poet,’ then you should see yourself writing successful poems.  Feel the joy you have when writing poetry for a living and the excitement you get when you see one of your collections on the shelves of your local bookstore or on the Amazon web site.

Feel this emotion as strongly as you can, for emotion is energy in motion and can increase the power of your affirmations quite dramatically.

Carrying out this exercise five times each day for the whole of this week will create a super-charged blueprint which may manifest itself very quickly indeed if you continue with this program.

The Power of Affirmations Program – Weeks Four to Ten

Objective
Your objective for weeks four to ten is to take as many action steps as you can to help manifest your affirmations.

Reason
Actions are the channels through which affirmations can manifest quickly and most easily. By taking actions towards your affirmations, you dramatically speed up the manifestation process.

Method
Continue using your affirmations as previously described, but now affirm just three times each day: once upon rising in the morning, once at the middle of the day and once before retiring to bed.

In addition to making these regular affirmations, take at least one action towards the manifestation of your affirmations each day. For example, if you are affirming, ‘I am a successful poet,’ a suitable action might be to set up a place at home where you can begin writing. Another action might be to purchase writing equipment. Yet another action might be to write a poem or two.

Similarly, if you are affirming, ‘I have a busy and satisfying social life.’ a suitable action towards manifestation might be joining a social club or group of some sort. Another might be getting in touch with old friends and acquaintances with a view to rekindling those forgotten relationships.

By taking action each day, you are actually drawing your desire closer to your life on the physical plane. The ‘gap’ between your reality and your affirmed reality gets ever-smaller until one day your astral blueprint makes the final ‘jump’ into manifestation.

In this second article on The Power of Affirmations we present the instructions for the first two weeks of our ten week affirmations program. Instructions for subsequent weeks will follow in due course.

Of course, simply studying the instructions for this program will have few beneficial effects. You cannot expect merely to read this lesson and automatically become an empowered, enriched human being with no effort on your part. Once again, this is an interactive subject and the benefits can only be obtained if you exercise self-discipline and actually follow through on the program we present to you.

We can’t force you to take action, and nor would we want to force you. Our job is simply to present the techniques which you can use to change your life. Whether you use those techniques or not is entirely up to you.

With that in mind, here are your instructions for the first two weeks:

The Power of Affirmations Program – Week One

Objective
Your objective during the first week of this interactive affirmations programme is to decide exactly what you want in your life.

Reason
Only by knowing exactly what you want can you begin to affirm this new reality and expect it to manifest accurately on the physical plane of existence.

Method
Sit down for fifteen minutes each day and decide exactly what you want out of life. Think about every aspect of your life: finances, career, relationships, spirituality, family, health – everything and anything which makes a contribution to your life as a whole.

Take each aspect in turn and decide what you would like to experience in that aspect which you aren’t already. For example, if you currently have no social life to speak of, you might decide that what you would really like most of all with regards to this aspect is a healthy social life with lots of friends and acquaintances. Another example:  if you currently work as a bank teller but you would really like to write poetry for a living, you would decide that you would like to change your career and become a poet.

Work your way through each aspect of your life and decide exactly what you want to change. As always, write your decisions down and be as specific as possible.

You may wish to focus on one aspect of your life each evening throughout the week or sit down for a few hours and work through all of your life aspects at once. Whichever approach appeals to you most is the one you should use.

The Power of Affirmations Program – Week Two

Objective
To write two affirmations for each of your life aspects.

Reason
Writing down your affirmations helps you to focus your thoughts and thus ensure that the actual affirmation work you will soon begin will be as beneficial as possible.

Method
In Week One you decided what you wanted to experience in every aspect of your life. This week you will transform those desired experiences into present-tense affirmations for use on a regular basis. Your affirmations can be as short or as long as you wish, but they must be specific and written in the present tense.

For example, instead of saying, ‘I want to be a writer’ a better affirmation would be ‘I am a successful poet’. The first phrase creates an astral image of a far-off hope, whilst the second instantly creates a compelling gap between reality as you experience it and reality as you say it is. This gap is what makes affirmation so powerful.

When you say, ‘I am a successful poet,’ or ‘I live in my ideal home,’ then your higher self notices the difference between your affirmation and physical reality and begins working to make sure that both are in synch. The easiest way it can do this is to attract your ideal home into your life or enable you to start writing successful poetry. Thus your affirmation creates physical reality!

Your affirmations must therefore be written in present-tense. We strongly suggest that you write your affirmations on index cards – one on each card – so that you can add or remove affirmations as and when necessary without too much fuss.

Two affirmations are required for each aspect of your life. One should affirm the physical quality you wish to experience and the other should affirm how this quality makes you feel.

For example, ‘I live in my ideal home,’ is a physical quality in your life and, ‘Living in my ideal home makes me feel joyful and secure’ is how this quality makes you feel.

By having two affirmations for each aspect, we can easily link emotion to your desire, and as you already know, emotion is extremely powerful as far as manifesting your desires is concerned.

Today we start a new series of articles on The Power of Affirmations. In previous articles here at Create Good Things we have touched upon the important topic of affirmations and we have even given you affirmations to use. In this series, however, we want to take a much closer look at what is, when all is said and done, a remarkable metaphysical tool which can change your life – The Power of Affirmation.

Over the next few articles you will learn that affirmations have been used for millennia, but that most modern methods of affirmation are hogwash. We explain how affirmations really work and how you can speak anything you want into existence – when you know how. We also warn against the misuse of affirmations, which some people use to try and control others on a silent, subliminal level.

By the time you complete this series you will have at your disposal an amazingly powerful technique which will enable you to change the reality you experience both quickly and effectively.

Use it wisely!

Introducing Affirmations
On a basic level, affirmations are words and phrases that are spoken deliberately in an effort to change the reality experienced by an individual. On a deeper level, affirmations are extremely powerful vocalised thought-forms which affect the universe and your place in it the instant they are spoken.

Looking at the topic from this perspective, all of language is an affirmation of some sort. When you complain about the state of the nation, you are affirming negativity. When you complain about the weather, you are affirming negativity. When you listen to someone’s problems and verbally agree that they have a rough deal, you are giving a negative affirmation which helps keep them in that situation.

Of course, few people deliberately intend to affirm negativity on such a regular basis, but the fact is that in many Western countries negativity is so much a part of our consciousness that the affirmations come naturally. In other words, we don’t even know we are doing it.

The life you are living right now is the way it is – at least in part – because of the affirmations you have spoken in the past. It doesn’t matter if your life is ‘good’ or ‘bad’ from your point of view, the fact is that you made it that way. If your life is less than what you want then this statement might make you feel a little uncomfortable, but there is a bright side, and it is this:

If you created a life full of negativity with the power of affirmations without even realising it, you can easily create a life full of positivity by harnessing the power of affirmations deliberately.

To illustrate how affirmations change reality, let us carry out a simply exercise. Simply read the following passage slowly to yourself, aloud if possible. Take time to think about what you read as you read it. Ready? Then here we go:

You are standing in the middle of a green field. You are wearing a heavy wool sweater which makes your skin itch. The sun is high in the sky to your left. The sun is hot. It beats down on your face. You being to perspire and your sweater begins to irritate you even more. It sticks to your skin, clinging and itching at the same time. Your only desire right now is to take the sweater off.

Okay, end of exercise. How do you feel compared with before. More relaxed? Less relaxed? Warmer or cooler? Comfortable or uncomfortable?

Most people will find that the above exercise tends to make them feel less comfortable than they were previously. Yet all they have physically done is read one paragraph of text! Now obviously the text itself is powerless, so what causes the change in feeling that the reader experiences?

The answer is that the spiritual power within the words channel into a thought-form. When the student reads the text aloud, his mind and spirit focus on what the words represent, creating thought-forms on the spiritual plane of existence. The spirit of the student, being acutely aware of what happens on this plane, experiences the conditions as though they were real, and this manifests itself in the student becoming uncomfortable.

This simple example illustrates how even basic affirmations automatically create powerful thought-forms which are instantly manifested on the spiritual plane. Continued use of such affirmations would mean that this manifestation would also occur on the physical plane of existence.

Thus, once again, and as we have said many times before, the law of attraction comes into play and thoughts become things.

Now think of a typical Western nation. The majority of the population complain about the weather, the government, the economic situation and a host of other things out of habit. This means that millions of people are producing negative affirmations which manifest themselves like self-fulfilling prophecies.

Imagine what life would be like if people habitually affirmed more positive conditions. What if we all got into the habit of saying how nice the weather is, how efficient our government is and how productive our economy is? What if we all harnessed the power of affirmations to deliberately create the type of country we would all want to live in?

The mind boggles.

Such mass positivity may not happen overnight, but on a personal level you can change your world in an instant if you decide to put the power of positive affirmation to work in your daily routine. You can experience unlimited levels of abundance, joy, happiness, romance, success, power or whatever else you want, simply by deciding that you will start using the power of affirmation deliberately instead of accidentally.

The rest of this series is geared to helping you to transform your life dramatically by harnessing the awesome power of your affirmations. It presents nothing less than a ten-week program which – if followed – will totally revolutionize your life.
