A human being can be said to inhabit two universes – the exterior physical universe which is experienced via the physical senses, and the interior universe which is experienced via the mind and imaginative faculties. Understanding that you as an individual inhabit two universes and not just one is important, because trying to bring about change in the physical universe without first bringing about the same change in your interior universe is extremely difficult, if not impossible.
Your interior universe is your primary domain as a spiritual being, and it serves as a pattern upon which your external experience is built. Furthermore, if your interior universe and the exterior universe are ever in conflict, it is always the interior state that will win out.
For example, if you are perfectly at home in your interior universe and you enjoy a feeling of calm, tranquillity and being at cause over life, those feelings will be part of your external experience even if the outer environment is full of challenges and deadlines.
Of course, the opposite is also true, and if you lack confidence and peace in your own interior universe then you will lack the experience of confidence and peace externally even if the situations in the environment are conducive to confidence and peace.
When you recognise that your interior universe effectively shapes the experience that you have in the external world, it is immediately apparent that if you want to create good things in your external reality you first need to create good things in your interior universe.
Most popular Law of Attraction techniques such as creative visualization and affirmations work because they gradually bring about positive changes in your interior universe, thereby allowing you to experience similar changes externally. Unfortunately, most popular techniques don’t create change in the interior universe as effectively as they would if interior creation were their primary purpose.
Whilst creative visualization, affirmation and so on are excellent tools, it can often be even more effective to take more direct and deliberate control of your interior universe and focus fully on making it exactly as you would want your external universe to be. By taking that approach you get to experience immediate results in your interior universe and your outer-world experience will quite naturally fall into line in due course.
To start with, you could landscape your interior universe so that you really enjoy spending time there. In a previous article we have discussed how to create an inner temple, and the process here is much the same. The big difference is that instead of creating a single temple you create the entire inner landscape of your interior universe. How large you make this interior universe, and the form it takes, is up to you. The important thing is to make sure that it accurately reflects the kind of experience that you want to have in the exterior universe.
For example, if you want to live in a large house in the countryside and enjoy a high level of financial abundance, glowing health and complete peace of mind, you could create all of that in your interior universe. You could create your ideal home in great detail, create the specific amount of financial abundance that you want, give your interior universe body the health and vitality you want, and so on.
Or maybe you want to experience a greater level of self-confidence in the exterior universe, as well as more peace of mind. In that case you would create more self-confidence and peace of mind for yourself in your interior universe, in whatever way appeals to you.
Whatever your exterior universe goals, creating them first in your interior universe will make it far easier for you to experience them externally. Spend as much time landscaping your interior universe in whatever way you see fit, then get into the habit of enjoying it on a daily basis. You might like to set aside thirty minutes a day to close your eyes and enjoy the reality of your interior universe, or perhaps you would prefer to go there when you close your eyes to sleep at night. Your personal routine is not important – what is important is that you enjoy your interior universe, and create whatever experiences you desire there, on a daily basis.
As far as your interior universe is concerned, you are the sole Creator, and you have free reign to create what you will. You can create a brand new world or a continent almost as easily as you can create a modest garden sanctuary, so allow yourself to be as inventive as you like. Just remember, the experiences that you create in your interior universe serve as a blueprint for the experiences that you will have in the exterior universe, so always be sure to create good things!
Create Good Things was selected as the name for this blog because it focuses on sharing hints, tips, techniques and strategies that can help you to create good things in your life on a deliberate basis. The key word in that last sentence is ‘deliberate’, because the fact is that we are all creating the reality that we experience in every passing moment. The big difference between people is that some are aware of that fact and seek to participate more fully in a process of deliberate creation whilst others are unaware of the role that they play in shaping their own reality and therefore have no choice but to continue with a process of unconscious creation.
Understanding that we are all creating our realities all of the time allows us to see that we already have everything we need to create reality. We don’t need to try and obtain any more power or ability than we already have within us. If anything is lacking in our lives, it is only a proper understanding of our massive potential and the skill required to make the most of that potential in a conscious and deliberate way. And those are the things that Create Good Things aims to provide.
In a few weeks time Create Good Things will be making a very special announcement that will benefit anyone who wants to be more at cause over life. We can’t provide any specific details about the announcement at this stage, but we can tell you that it will revolutionise the life of anyone who has a desire to create reality in a more deliberate and conscious way. That’s a fairly big claim to make, we know, but when you see the announcement that will be made in March, we think it is one with which everyone reading these words will agree with.
We are providing advance notice of this special announcement for two reasons. First, we want to make sure that all existing readers of Create Good Things keep a close eye on this site so that they don’t miss it (subscribing to our RSS feed might be helpful here). Second, we want to give you all a chance to invite your friends, colleagues and anyone else who you think might be interested to visit Create Good Things so that they too can benefit from the new development just as soon as it is announced.
The world is going through some tough times right now, and those who are trapped on a path of unconscious creation often feel as if they are being blown around this way and that by life’s circumstances. It is our hope that the announcement soon to be made here at Create Good Things will enable everyone who desires it to escape that trap of perceived powerlessness and set themselves on the much more causative and fulfilling path of deliberate creation. Stay tuned for the announcement in March!
Reality Creation (also referred to as the Law of Attraction) has been discussed in books and other texts for thousands of years. But which titles are the best as far as obtaining tangible results is concerned? Here are my own Top 5 Reality Creation books…
1 – As a Man Thinketh by James Allen
As a Man Thinketh takes the biblical observation that ‘as a man thinketh, so is he’ and presents the reader with a concise guide to applying that principle. Refreshingly devoid of commercialism, this is a simple book that everyone should study at least once. As a Man Thinketh can be found here.
2 – The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D Wattles
The Science of Getting Rich focuses on getting rich in all areas of life – financial, career, physical health and so on. The author, Wallace D Wattles, says in the preface that: ‘This book is pragmatical, not philosophical; a practical manual, not a treatise upon theories. It is intended for the men and women whose most pressing need is for money; who wish to get rich first, and philosophize afterward.’ It is said that this book inspired Rhonda Byrne to write The Secret and once again make the Law of Attraction a popular topic of discussion. Your free copy of The Science of Getting Rich is available at the bottom of this page.
3 – The Art & Science of Magickal Creation by Daniel Keaton
Whereas the previous two books were written at the beginning of the 20th century, The Art & Science of Magickal Creation is a thoroughly modern text. Originally available as a home study course of six levels, the course is now available in e-book form online at a fraction of the original price. I have worked through the entire course personally and can vouch for its incredible effectiveness. Don’t let the word ‘magick’ put you off – this is pure, concentrated reality creation information that no Law of Attraction student should ignore. Obtain The Art & Science of Magickal Creation at www.magickal-creation.com.
4 – Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
Think and Grow Rich is often classed as a business or personal development book, and whilst it is both of those things it definitely speaks about life from the perspective of reality creation. Serious students who enjoy Think and Grow Rich might also like to study Napoleon Hill’s multi-volume Law of Success – you can obtain it as a free bonus here.
5 – The Master Key by Charles F Haanel
The Master Key was originally a home study course that was later made available in book form and the aim of the course was to teach the principles of creative thought in a scientific way. Napoleon Hill wrote to Charles Haanel to thank him for The Master Key and Rhonda Byrne quotes Haanel in her book The Secret, so the influence of this work is considerable. Your free copy of The Master Key is available at the bottom of this page.
There are many other books that have a great amount of value, but these five are my all-time favourites. If you enjoy reading about the various techniques of Reality Creation that are available to you, I highly recommend that you obtain some or all of them as soon as you can.
Some Law of Attraction teachers say that all you have to do to create good things in your life is imagine good things happening and wait for the universe to deliver. Unfortunately, life doesn’t work quite like that, and it is also necessary to take physical actions to make the manifestation of your desires possible.
Just as you can only receive a telephone call by taking the action of picking up the phone when it rings, so you can only experience the manifestation of your desires by taking the actions that make such receiving possible. If you simply sit back and do nothing, then that’s exactly what you will get.
The good news is that the Law of Attraction often makes physical actions a lot more effective than it ever would be if you had not first created your future internally as described in the previous post. When you create your future in the way that I have been explaining, you can expect all sorts of coincidences to show up in your life that help you to manifest your desires faster and easier than you might currently think possible. So what kind of actions should you start taking?
I think it is a good idea to borrow the philosophy of many spiritual thinkers throughout history in this respect. ‘Pray as if it all depends on God,’ they said, ‘and act as if it all depends on you.’ In other words, you should simply take whatever actions would be necessary to achieve the goal even if the Law of Attraction didn’t exist.
If you want to lose weight, start eating more sensibly and get regular exercise. If you want to get a promotion at work, focus on being more productive and enthusiastic about your job. And if you want more wealth in your life, start looking for ways in which you can increase your income – perhaps by investing in training materials or even in personal development materials that will help you develop a more abundant state of mind.
Don’t think of these actions as being anything negative because they aren’t. Think of them as your way of showing the universe that you are serious about what you want and that you are going to use every resource available to bring it into your life. When you do this you are effectively participating in a process of ‘active receiving’ and your efforts will not be wasted.
At this point we can summarise the Create Your Future process quite simply:
• Design Your Future by deciding what you really want.
• Create Your Future Internally with visualization and affirmations.
• Create Your Future Externally by taking action toward your goals.
Apply this process in your life and the Law of Attraction will do the rest.
In my last post I explained that the first step to creating the life of your dreams was to design your future. If you have done that you are ready to proceed to the next step, which is to create your future internally. This involves using a couple of techniques to bring you to the point where you completely believe that your future success has already been achieved on an internal level.
The first technique I recommend, and one that will be very familiar to anyone who is familiar with the Law of Attraction, is visualization. Visualizing is traditionally defined as ‘to imagine in pictures’, but getting the feeling of having accomplished something is just as important as imagining scenes of accomplishment, so don’t get too hung up on the visual side of things. Instead, concentrate on developing a feeling that the future you have created has already come to pass on an inner level.
To do this, close your eyes and allow yourself to ‘make believe’ that the future you have designed has magically come true. Imagine that you have the physique of your dreams, that your bank balance is as high as you ever wanted it to be, that you already live in your ideal home, and so on. Spend several minutes doing this and make sure that you enjoy every second, then make sure that you repeat the exercise at least three times each day. View it as ‘visiting your creation in advance’.
Astute readers will note that I asked you to ‘make believe’ rather than fantasize. That’s because what you are doing here is literally making a new belief about your reality, and when your belief is formed the magic of believing comes into play to speed up the manifestation process.
The second technique that you should use to create your future internally is affirmation, which involves saying positive statements with as much conviction and belief as possible. I suggest that you use the statements that you wrote down in Step 3 of the Design Your Future exercise and that you get into the habit of speak them out loud several times a day. Also speak them quietly to yourself when you find yourself with nothing particular to do, such as when queuing in a store or waiting for a friend.
Concentrate on using these two techniques of visualization and affirmation on a daily basis and always aim to develop the emotional feeling of having rather than wanting. By making the belief that you already have what you want, you effectively create your future internally and put yourself in a great position for the third and final phase, which I will discuss next time.
Until you design your future, you will never be able to take control and create it as you want it to be. Whilst many people allow their lives to unfold according to chance, the end result of such an approach is rarely impressive, and leads to a state of mediocrity at best. Just as a garden that is not maintained will eventually become overgrown with weeds, so a life that has not been deliberately designed will eventually become a pale shadow of what it could have been.
Clearly, if you want to live life to the full, you need to stop being a passenger and choose to jump into the driving seat instead. Designing your future isn’t particularly difficult, and once you have done it you will be able to quickly move on and start creating it just as you have designed. That said, here’s how to design your future…
Step 1 – Define Your Life
First, take a pad and pencil and write down six headings: Health & Fitness, Career, Finances, Relationships, Tangibles and Personal Development. If you wish to rename these headings or add/remove one or two, feel free to do so (for example, a retired person might not feel the need for a Career heading).
Step 2 – Imagine the Possibilities
Next, look at each heading in turn and decide what you want the area of your life to be like in the future. Don’t worry about what you currently think is possible or about how something might be achieved, simply identify what you want. For example, under the Personal Development heading you might want to have learned to speak a second language, and under the Tangibles heading you might want to be the proud owner of a particular sports car.
Step 3 – Write it Down
When you have decided on something, write down a brief description of what you want under the appropriate heading. Write in the present tense as if the future vision is already a reality. For example, under Personal Development you might write, “I can communicate fluently in Japanese.” And under the Health & Fitness heading you might write “I have a sleek, toned physique that makes me feel as good as I look.”
You should spend as much time as you want on this process of designing your future and have fun with it. However, do take it seriously, because when you follow through with the next few steps that I will present in my next two posts, the future you design will be transformed into an actual reality. So design something special!
If you want to know how to predict the future then you’re in luck, because I can tell you. The most reliable way of predicting the future doesn’t involve crystal balls, tarot cards, tea leaves or any other kind of fortune-telling paraphernalia. That’s because the best way to predict the future is to create it.
Most people allow the future to unfold all by itself, and as a result they find themselves being led by the circumstances of life. If their employer offers them a promotion they take it and move up the career ladder. If he doesn’t then they stay exactly where they are. If the fashion world decides that the colour of the season is green then they end up wearing green for a few months. And if the colour is blue they wear blue. In other words, most people allow life to boss them around.
Allowing life to boss you around makes your future very unpredictable, because you have no idea what’s coming next. This can make you feel insecure, anxious and literally clueless about where you will be one, five or ten years down the line. Some people might say that they are quite happy to ‘go wherever life leads them’ but to me that kind of approach is a complete waste of conscious intelligence and makes it very difficult for anyone to live life to the full.
If you want to predict the future with a much greater degree of certainty, and trade anxiety and insecurity for confidence, you need to start creating your future instead of just waiting for it to happen. This involves deciding exactly what you want to experience and achieve in your life, establishing the desired outcome in your mind as if it were already a reality, and then taking the actions that are required to shift your creation in the mental universe into the physical universe.
Over the next few posts I will discuss each of these elements so that you are in no doubt about how to proceed. This will allow you to start creating your future as you want it to be – something that makes predicting the future easier than you ever thought possible!
