This past life regression exercise should be carried out immediately after the relaxation exercise that was discussed in my previous Explore Your Past Lives article.
Realise that all the answers to all the questions in the universe are sitting within you right now. All you need to do is ask the question or name the theme and then wait for the voice of your Higher Self to respond in the form of thoughts, words and images.
Silently name your question or theme and then look into the blackness of your mind. Let images, sounds and thoughts come to you. Listen with the ears of your spirit and you will hear. See with the eyes of your spirit and you will see. Knock on the door of the inner world and the transcendent magic of that world will be opened for you.
Whatever images, sounds and thoughts come to you, accept them.
Before long you may find yourself in a particular place in the realm of your imagination. Begin to explore this place and ask yourself questions as you do so. What is the weather like? What is the scenery like? Does it remind you of any place you have visited before? What are the people like in this place? How are they reacting to you? How do you feel about them? What is your relationship with these people? Can you talk to them? Can they talk to you? What are they saying?
Look at your feet. Are you wearing anything on them? If so, what? What are you wearing on your legs and arms? What do your hands look like? Are they masculine or feminine? Are they the hands of a labourer or the hands of a member of royalty?
Is there a mirror or a reflective pool around here? Can you find one? Take a look in the mirror or pool and note what you see. Who is the person you see staring back at you? What is he or she wearing? Does he or she look happy or sad? Old or young? Thin or fat? Tall or short?
Now that you know who you are in this inner world, go back and explore some more. Try to figure out as much about your life as you can. When were you born? What do you do? What is the purpose of your life in this place? How does that purpose compare to the circumstances of your current life? What lessons can you gain from this?
When you have finished exploring and wish to return to a normal state of consciousness, simply bring your focus back to your nostrils. Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out. Take a few more breaths and then, when you feel ready, open your eyes. Make notes about your perceptions as soon as you can.
