Communicate With Your Higher Self
This Magic Words technique allows you to communicate with your Higher Self, which means being able to ask any question and get an answer. This is an invaluable technique which can help to speed your journey towards total personal empowerment substantially.
The method is not complicated to use, but the results you experience do improve the more you use it. This is because it often takes time before you are fully ‘tuned in’ to the voice of your Higher Self. Practice the method daily and in a week or two the answers to your greatest questions will come thick and fast – and with perfect clarity. The method works like this:
Go to your quiet place with your pen and note-paper and ensure that you will not be disturbed for at least thirty minutes.
Close your eyes and relax for a few moments so that your mind is quiet and tranquil.
When you are fully relaxed, open your eyes and ask your question by writing it down on your note-paper. Write as though you are talking directly to your Higher Self, because that’s exactly what you are doing.
Once you have asked the question in this way, write down any response you get. This usually comes in the form of a complete sentence (sometimes many sentences!) and it may feel as though you are simply ‘talking to yourself’. That really is what is happening, but the ‘self’ that is talking to you is the much wiser Higher Self!
If the answer to your question does not seem to make sense, ask the same question in a different way and try again. Rest assured that if you listen intently to the voice within, answers will most definitely come.
Sometimes the answer to your question may be another question.
For example, you may ask, “Will I ever have a lot of money in the bank?” and the answer may be, “How much is a lot of money?”
This is quite common and is simply something which is encouraging you to be more specific with your questions. Simply ask the question again and be as specific as possible. For example, “Will I ever have $200,000 in the bank?”
Another thing that happens frequently is that the answer you get is not one which you would like. Often the Truth as revealed by your Higher Self hurts. It may make your ego smart quite painfully. You may be told to forgive someone who has hurt you in the past. You may be told to give something to someone who you consider to be undeserving. You may be told to quit smoking or to start exercising.
Any of this could make you feel uncomfortable. But if you listen to what your Higher Self tells you and act accordingly – no matter how much you don’t like to – your progress will be speedy. After all, your Higher Self has your own best interests at heart and it will only ever tell you to do something if it is for your own ultimate benefit as a spiritual being.
One of the great things about using this method to communicate with your Higher Self is that your notes will provide you with a record of your conversations for future reference. In a few months time you will be able to look back on your conversations and you will probably be astonished at how the advice and answers you received have helped to improve your life.
Magic Words
Magic words are those that are written down in such a way that they help to bring about magical changes in your life circumstances. In the next few posts I will explain how you can start using magic words to gain deeper spiritual insight and communicate more effectively with your Higher Self. If that sounds appealing to you then let’s get on with the first instalment…
From the dawn of civilisation, human beings have felt a need to express themselves through external visual symbolism. Even before formal written language existed, men and women expressed themselves through cave paintings.
Modern scholars agree that such images were not merely used for decorative purposes, but to give the tribes people something to focus on. An image of men succeeding as hunters would be used to attract actual success. In other words the images were expressed so that they could be meditated upon and be manifest as reality on the physical plane of existence.
Although modern written languages mostly consist of words rather than pictorial symbols, the written word is just as powerful as any symbol ever was. We think in words. We communicate in words. Words are an essential part of life in the modern word.
And written words can make magic.
I have said in previous articles that your outer reality is governed by your inner reality. You have already learned that making things happen externally is simply a matter of changing your inner reality and then focusing on that reality until it manifests itself. The written word is a very powerful tool which can make that manifestation happen much faster than it might otherwise.
The techniques which follow in the next two posts all rely on the written word. Excellent results can be had with a normal pen and a piece of paper. However, because writing will play such a serious part of your personal empowerment, I strongly suggest that you equip yourself with a dedicated pen and supply of note-paper which you use exclusively for magical purposes.
Having dedicated writing tools will make the whole process of using Magic Words just that much more special. As you use the tools regularly they will become symbols of your own personal power, and the mere act of using them will be a subconscious affirmation of success.
If you are going to be serious about using Magic Words (and if you aren’t you shouldn’t use them at all) then I suggest that you obtain the following at your earliest convenience:
- A brand new gold metal pen. The pen doesn’t have to be genuine gold – a pen with a gold colored outer case will suffice. Having a pen of this color symbolizes wealth and success in all things and will make your work more effective.
- A supply of note-paper. The paper can be in any color you choose, but the more luxurious the note-paper is, the better.
- A small box file in which to store your pen and note-paper. Imagine this box file to be the house in which your magical tools will live whenever they are not in use.
These items should not be expensive, but spending time selecting them specifically for magical purposes will pay off ten-fold. The mere act of shopping for these items sets up a powerful thought-form of success which can help work miracles.
Once you have obtained a suitable pen, supply of note-paper and a box file, you are ready to start making these tools work for you.
You are ready to unleash the magic of the written word. In my next post I will discuss the use of spiritual journals, but if you want to start using the power of Magic Words right away then consider taking another look at Write Your Own Reality.
Your Inner Voice
All of us have an inner voice – a ‘still, small voice’ which can serve as a constant guide, teacher and advisor if we allow it to. This voice is commonly referred to as intuition, but in fact it is the voice of your Higher Self trying to show you how to live, work and play in the most effective, joyful way possible. If you learn to listen to this inner voice and follow its promptings, your life will change in more ways than you can currently imagine. You will move from ‘hoping’ that you are doing things right to ‘knowing’ that you are doing so.
Knowing the difference between your own thoughts and the inner voice is a skill which develops with practice. However, there are certain rules which you can apply immediately to discern the voice of your Higher Self.
• The voice of the Higher Self will never tell you to harm yourself or other people in any way – physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually.
• The voice of the Higher Self will never discourage you or put you down, but will always be uplifting, encouraging and peaceful.
• The voice of the Higher Self will sometimes encourage you to do things which you don’t want to do (such as to take more care of your physical body) but when it does so you will know without a doubt that it has your very best interests in mind.
You have not reached this point in your life without already having heard the voice of your Higher Self. There have undoubtedly been times when you have heard it loud and clear, telling you to visit someone, say something comforting to a friend, study a certain subject or avoid doing something which could be harmful or negative. Listening to the voice as a matter of course is however, a skill that develops slowly. Here are ways in which you can listen to the voice more effectively…
• Get in to habit of being quiet, not only during meditation, but at other times too. It is easy to distract ourselves with sources of noise, but it is in times of silence when the inner voice is most easily heard.
• Pay attention to your feelings. The ‘voice’ does not always use words to convey its messages, but often speaks in the form of hunches, instincts and gut feelings.
• Spend time regularly in a natural environment, whether it is sitting by the ocean, walking through woodland or exploring mountains. In these natural settings the inner voice may choose to speak to you through nature itself.
• Keep a journal of your thoughts, feelings and experiences. Journaling is a very effective way of listening to the voice within. Simply write down a question in your journal and then write down whatever answer comes to you.
• Whenever you hear the voice within, follow its guidance. It is no good listening for advice from your Higher Self if you never take that advice. You need to use what you hear if you are ever going to reach the point where your life is in total harmony with the universe.
The more you listen, and the more you heed whatever advice or guidance you are given, the easier it will be for you to rely on your inner voice. Once you have learned to rely on that voice as a matter of habit, your life will become a much more joyous, successful and peaceful adventure.
Your Inner Guide 4
We will round off our Inner Guide series by presenting two more important guidelines:
#2 – Follow your guide’s advice
Becoming a more powerful and evolved spiritual being is only possible if you learn to follow your guide’s advice. Often what your guide suggests may challenge your existing beliefs, attitudes or habits. Your guide may tell you to quit smoking, lose some weight or get a new job. Your guide may tell you to follow a different spiritual path or to break out of a restricting pattern of beliefs. He or she may advise you to be a little nicer to your colleagues, to show more compassion towards those less fortunate than yourself, and so on.
You will only grow if you follow all of this advice. It might not be comfortable to do this, and often it will be downright challenging, but if you follow through you will grow so much that when you look back at how you used to be, you will be amazed at the progress you have made.
#3 – Record your conversations for yourself and others
You should consider keeping a spiritual journal in which you can record the conversations you have with your inner guide. This will enable you to look back in a few weeks, months or years time and see what kind of progress you have made. You will be able to reflect on how following the advice of your guide has helped to change your attitudes, your outlook and your life.
Recording your conversations has another use too. Your journal can be passed on to your children, and then to your grandchildren, and so on. Or, if children are not a part of your life-plan, your journal can be passed onto others who you care for. It might not seem likely that your journal will be valuable to others right now, but your experiences with your guide could well help another traveller meet his own guide and thus evolve his own spiritual being.
Think about it for a moment. Don’t you take great pleasure in reading about the spiritual and metaphysical experiences of other people? Don’t you enjoy learning how another person used his inner resources, universal laws and spiritual insights to improve his life? Of course you do – all seekers do. So why not put your own experiences down in writing? Why not record your own spiritual development – including your conversations with your inner guide – so that someone else can benefit at a later date?
Get a notebook and a pencil and take it with you when you go to meet with your inner guide. Make notes, record particular phrases which help you, write down anything which you think that you or anyone else will find useful to study at some point in the future. Not only will this help someone else further down the line but it will also help you to take your inner-world conversations out to the physical world and really start applying the lessons your guide teaches you.
This brings us to the close of our Inner Guide, but your relationship with your inner guide is only just beginning. Visit your inner guide often, and just watch how your attitude and your life changes. We assure you that you will be genuinely amazed.
