Increase Your Luck Part 1
Imagine the scenario. You are watching television and suddenly the latest lottery numbers are flashed up on the screen. You casually check your ticket and discover that you have all the numbers. You have won the Jackpot and stand to become a millionaire just as soon as your win is confirmed. The rules of your current “game of life” have suddenly and dramatically changed. No longer will you have to think about money and how much you have. You now have the financial wherewithal to focus your mind on other, more eternal issues. And all because of one incredible moment of good luck.
Luck comes in many forms to many different people. As we have just seen, good luck often manifests itself as a financial windfall, but there are many other ways in which good luck can affect our lives. We can bump into people or stumble into situations which benefit all concerned. We can find a book or manual which helps us deal with a specific problem at just the right time. We can make a seemingly random decision which dramatically and beneficially alters our current destiny.
Take a look at the people who live life in the spotlight – celebrities, businessmen, entrepreneurs and politicians – and you can usually see at a glance who is lucky and who is not. People who have good luck experience life as if blessed with a non-stop winning streak. Actors get starring roles in major movies – sometimes after being plucked from total obscurity. Politicians succeed in securing a peace treaty where their predecessors failed miserably. Businessmen clinch deals which secure their success for decades to come.
People who do not have so much good luck have a different story to tell. They often work as hard – if not harder – than their lucky counterparts, but nothing seems to go quite right for them. Actors lose their parts or star in movies which bomb at the box office. Pop stars have arguments which bring their careers to an early demise. Politicians say the wrong things at the wrong times and create more tension where they had intended to create peace.
Examine your own life and it will be obvious whether or not you are experiencing good luck. If good luck is on your side then you will find that everything is working together for your good – often in coincidental or unexpected ways. It seems as if nothing you do can go wrong. If good luck is not on your side, however, the opposite will tend to be true. Everything will seem to be conspiring against you. Try as hard as you will, it may seem as if nothing you do ever works out quite as well as you had hoped.
According to many people, luck is something which is beyond our control. Indeed, the dictionary defines luck as: “Whatever good or bad events happen to a person by chance; the tendency for a person to be consistently fortunate or unfortunate.”
Whilst this definition serves it purpose for most people, it is far from accurate from a metaphysical point of view. The fact is that nothing occurs by chance. Even seemingly random events serve a higher purpose. We therefore need to re-define luck from our more spiritual or cosmic point of view:
Luck is the automatic response to our automatic affirmations about life.
This might sound a little strange to some newer readers, so let us explain what we mean by this. Luck, the seemingly random events and situations which affect our lives either negatively or positively, are merely automatic responses to the affirmations we have automatically (or subconsciously) made about life on a daily basis.
Think of a universal vending machine and you will understand this definition even better. Whatever you put into the vending machine in the form of thought-currency will determine what the machine dispenses at the other end. Insert thoughts and affirmations of how lucky you are and the machine will dispense circumstances and events which are in line with your lucky self-image. If, on the other hand, you insert thoughts and affirmations of how unlucky you are, the machine will dispence circumstances and events which are in line with your un-lucky self-image.
Now it is vitally important that you realise your part in this process. Although the vending machine (which in this metaphor symbolises the universe around you) dispenses negative situations and events to some people, it does so only because these people have asked for such events and situations through negative affirmations. Similarly, when it dispenses huge, lottery-winning piles of good luck to other individuals, it does so only because those people have been emanating huge, lottery-winning thoughts and affirmations.
The universe is therefore totally unbiased. People are not singled-out to be blessed with luck or cursed with no luck. Rather, we ourselves put in a request to be lucky or unlucky according to the thoughts and affirmations we put out on a regular basis, both consciously and subconsciously. The universe then honours that request. Simple.
When you take this new understanding on board, you will come to realise that luck is not a quality which bestows itself randomly on people, but that it is an actual vibrational rate of spiritual energy which you can learn to develop through the continued use of specific exercises.
Consider your thoughts and affirmations as having specific frequencies, much like a radio. If you habitually turn your dial to the vibrations which correspond to negativity, failure and lack then these are the only radio stations you will be able to listen to. However, if you learn to turn your dial to the vibrations which correspond to success, optimism and abundance then these are the radio stations which you will be able to listen to on a regular basis.
Allow Success Into Your Life
Today I want to talk about how to allow success into your life instead of chasing it. All over the world there are millions of people who believe, either consciously or on a deeper subconscious level, that the Creative Force (or God) is their opponent in life. They have a ‘me against the world’ mentality and feel that they need to fight in order to succeed, prosper and achieve happiness.
This is nonsense. Success, prosperity and happiness are natural states of being and are actually what the Creative Force wants you to experience whilst here on earth. Far from ‘opposing’ your efforts, the universe is just as keen for you to succeed as you are – if not even more so!
Examine the natural order of the universe and you will find that success, prosperity and achievement are taking place naturally all the time. When we think of nature, we think of growth, abundance, reproduction, beauty, peace and all the other good things that we too want to enjoy. This desire to become successful, prosperous and happy is therefore completely natural, and in no way opposes the Creative Force.
So why is it that so many people strive to succeed, prosper and gain happiness, only to fail? The answer lies in the question. People strive for success, when what they really need to do is allow success to happen. They chase success instead of learning to allow it to flow freely into their lives.
In nature, which offers a perfect illustration of the Creative Force in motion, plants and trees do not strive and struggle in order to grow. They simply bask in the light of the sun, feed from the nutrients of the soil, and experience growth as a natural result. In a similar way, all we need to do in order to enjoy the most wonderful life is stop struggling and striving. Instead, we need to concentrate on basking in the light of the Creative Force and feeding from the power which is right there within us.
In other words, the way to succeed in material ways is to stop focusing on them so much and instead put spiritual matters first. Almost all scriptures present this eternal truth in one way or another. For example, in the New testament, Jesus says, ‘Seek first the kingdom [spiritual growth] and all of these things [material benefits] will be given to you.’
Why is it so important to put the spiritual first in your life in order to achieve success, prosperity and happiness? Well, you must remember that success, prosperity and happiness are creations of the Creative Force that permeates all things. By devoting yourself to the Creative Force, you are going directly to the source of all that is. Rather than spending your life chasing ‘effects’ you instead spend time with the great ‘cause’ and as a result the ‘effects’ will show up in your life quite naturally.
There is another reason for putting the Creative Force first, however, and that is because it is only the eternal aspect of your being which is truly important. You can make a great deal of money and achieve a great deal of material success, but if you have not developed your spiritual self then all of this is worthless. You will merely die a rich, but spiritually impoverished, man or woman.
If, on the other hand, you make your spiritual development the focus of your life, you will be dedicating yourself to something which transcends physical death. In other words, you will be doing something which you can take with you when you die. And along the way, you will also get to enjoy the fruits of a spiritual life – the success, prosperity and happiness which so many people seek for their own sake.
The points to remember for today are therefore as follows: The universe is on your side! The Creative Force wants you to be successful, prosperous, healthy and happy! The way to enjoy these things is not to chase them for their own sake, but allow them to manifest in your life as you focus primarily on developing your spiritual nature.

Three Keys to Working Miracles in Your Life
There are three keys to working miracles in your life. Understand these three keys and you can begin to unlock your true potential as a spiritual being. The three keys to working miracles in your life are as follows:
1 – Recognise Your True Identity
You are not merely a human being, but a spiritual being. And you are not merely a spiritual being, but an aspect of what many traditions call God. Yes, when all is said and done our position is that you are God!
This understanding is an essential key to working miracles in your life, but it is one which many people have a problem with. This is because few people truly understand the nature of God, and so claiming to be God is seen as something blasphemous.
Contrary to popular opinion, God is not a cosmic Santa Claus who sits on a giant throne making a note of whether you are naughty or nice. God is the energy which makes all things possible.
Everything in this universe, be it a human being, a rock on the sea shore or a television set, is made up of molecules. Break these molecules down to their smallest components and all you have is pure energy. This is a scientific fact which any quantum physicist would be happy to confirm.
This means that, in effect, all that exists is energy. And since this energy is God, all things are God. Some items, such as a rock on the sea shore, are less conscious of their nature than others, but all things exist thanks to the energy which is God.
Saying that you are God does not, therefore, set you above everyone else and make you bent on achieving global domination. All it does is help you remember that everything in the universe is God, and that you, being a part of the universe, are God as well.
The seat you are sitting on is God. This screen you are looking at is God. The hand that rests on your computer mouse is God. You are God. Your goldfish is God. Your next door neighbour (like him or not) is God.
This is why almost all great spiritual leaders urged us to treat everything around us with respect: because everything is a part of the whole called God.
We are all part of the universe – which literally means one song. We are all musical notes in the one song, and no individual note is less important than the others. We are all God.
2 – Know that Limitations are Illusions
For a long time, people thought that the world was flat. This was a false limitation which had no basis in reality, but still made people avoid taking long journeys just in case they fell off the horizon! In the same way, many of the limitations you believe in are false and are restricting your life experience.
For example, you may believe that you have no talent to speak of. You would be wrong. Every single human being has at least one talent waiting to be developed, but unless you stop believing in your limitation you will never have enough confidence to try new things and actually find that talent.
In the same way, you may believe that money is scarce. If you believe in this limitation then you will never experience a state of wealth and financial prosperity. The fact is that money is everywhere. Believe that to be so and you will experience it. You will find money in the street. Other people will give you money ‘out of the blue’. A new job will be offered to you. It may manifest itself in any number of ways, but as soon as you believe in abundance, money will go out of its way to get into your hands!

By consciously affirming that you are God, limitations become silly. God has no limitations, therefore you have no limitations. All you need to do is learn how to start working with your latent God-Power in a deliberate, focused manner. Once you have done that, you will see the limitations in your life for what they are – mere illusions – and the miraculous will become commonplace.
3 – Know that Emotion is God-Power
Emotion is, when all is said and done, Energy in Motion. In other words, emotion is God-Power at work.
Some people let their emotions rule them. They burst into tears at the slightest thing. They feel constantly confused and ‘out of their depth’ in a variety of situations. This discomfort is caused because they are not in control of the power of emotion, but are swept to and fro like a reed in a hurricane.
A few people, however, understand the true power of emotion, and experience miracles on a daily basis. These are people who have learned to control the hurricane and actually use it to help them achieve their goals.
If a person deliberately develops the emotion of being rich, he will begin to think, talk and act like he is rich. He will know on an intuitive level that he is already rich. The end result is that he will become rich.
If a person deliberately develops the emotions of being happy, he will begin to think, talk and act like he is happy. He will therefore begin to experience happiness automatically.
Emotion is an awesome power which, when handled properly as we will explain in future posts, is absolutely unstoppable. It is something which can guarantee you the life of your dreams.
Applying The Three Keys
1 – Let the fact that you are God sink deep into your consciousness. Look at everything around you and realise that everything is just energy. How does this way of looking at the world make you feel?
2 – Be aware of any limitations you believe in, then set about getting rid of them. As a spiritual being nothing is impossible for you! Nothing! Once you realise this and accept it, you are ready to start working some real miracles!
3 – Start to use your emotions deliberately. If you are depressed, start developing the emotion of happiness. If you are financially lacking, start developing the emotion of being wealthy. If you feel tense or worried, start developing the emotion of being happy and joyful.
Your Inner Guide 1
Hollywood is fascinated with the topic of a person reaching his full potential by tuning into his inner spiritual advisor or guide. Movies which tell the stories of people doing this are almost invariably box office blockbusters. For example, in the Star Wars trilogy of films, young Luke Skywalker’s ambition to become a Jedi Knight can only be achieved if he successfully learns to listen to and use “The Force” within him. Those movies were made decades ago, yet they are still incredibly popular. So much so that all three movies have been re-mastered and re-released so that a whole new generation can enjoy them.
The fascination with stories of “tuning in” and “making good” is universal. The idea of us being able to tap into a source of knowledge and wisdom within us is eternally appealing. Why? Because it strikes a chord. Because many of us, perhaps most of us, know instinctively that such things are more than flights of fancy. We know that they are actually well within the realms of possibility.
Most of us have experienced communication with this force of inner wisdom on at least a few occasions without even trying. The inner voice speaks to us often through hunches, ideas and sudden realisations which, when followed up, help us live life at a higher level. Real-life accounts of people who did this can sometimes be quite astonishing. Think of the mother who instinctively feels that all is not right with her child, then checks this out and finds that he was about to open a bottle of pills. Think of the international businessman who dreams that his next plane trip will end in disaster, so decides against taking it and finds that the dream was a genuine warning.
If such instinctive (one might say accidental) communication with the wisdom within us can help us so greatly, just imagine what life could be like if we deliberately came into contact with it and consciously listened to what it has to say. We would come to a place where we could receive guidance on a daily basis; where our decisions can be discussed before being made; where we can learn about life and our place here on earth not from other individuals but directly from the spiritual wisdom within us.
The goal of this Inner Guide series is to get you to such a place. Our aim here is to teach you how to contact and communicate with your inner guide – the voice of wisdom and knowledge within you.
